Prague College announces a significant increase in local students

Prague College, one of the Czech Republic's leading private universities, announces the start of its Spring semester, with students from all over the world having enrolled on new programmes in Accounting, Business, Fine Art, Graphic Design. IT, Computing, and Communications.

Prague College, which is located in Vinohrady, Prague 2, is the only university in the Czech Republic to provide British-accredited degrees and diplomas for all its programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and in the 13 years since its incorporation, it has seen a year-on-year increase in the number of Czech and Czech-based students making the decision to join one of its highly regarded programmes.

Over the last three years, in particular, 53% of the college’s students have come from the EU, including 34% from the Czech or Slovak Republics, whilst 47% are from the rest of the world. Two thirds of the students are resident in the Czech Republic before they join Prague College.

Talking about the increase in the number of locally-based students, Douglas Hajek, founder and director of Prague College says: ‘We are strong believers in the philosophy of practice-based learning, and aim to provide all of our students with real-world experience, whilst carefully nurturing them in key skills for the workplace. We think that this is one of the key reasons why Prague College is proving to be an ever-more popular choice as a place to study, and also, which makes me particularly proud, why our completion rate has been at least 82% each year.

Prague College has attracted many exceptionally talented students over the past thirteen years, with many of them quickly becoming successful in their chosen fields after graduation. Recent success stories include Jan Rosicky, who in 2016 was the winner of the Royal Society of Arts Student Design Award in the UK; Petr Roudensky, the author of ‘Kvalita softwaru: Teorie a Praxe’ (ComputerMedia 2016); and Charlotte Vackova, winner of the CEZ ‘Cena energie’ competition in 2014, who has already gone on to develop a successful film-making career.
